Wedding Check List

You've set a date and plans are in motion. Planning your wedding can sometimes be a stressful undertaking, especially if you choose not to hire a wedding coordinator.

The following 12-month checklist can aid you in keeping ahead of your wedding plans.

12 Months Before
Announce your engagement.	Arrange for both sets of parents to meet.
Decide on a date.	Plan a budget.
Hire a wedding planner (if you wish)	Choose ceremony site and visit the minister.
Work on your guest list for an approx. head count.	Visit reception sites and reserve one.
6-9 Months Before
Choose your wedding party.	Enroll in a bridal-gift registry (if you wish)
Choose a caterer.	Choose a photographer and/or videographer
Shop for your gown.	Choose flowers and decorations
Shop for bridal party attire	Book the musicians and/or DJ
4-6 Months Before
Complete the guest list.	Book accommodations for overseas guests.
Order wedding invitations, thank-you cards, programs and other stationery.	Order wedding gown, headpiece, gloves, jewellery and other accessories.
Order the wedding cake.	Make honeymoon reservations.
2-4 Months Before
Choose gifts for gift list.	Order tuxedos for groom and groomsmen.
Obtain the marriage license.	Select ceremony and reception music.
Meet with the caterer to discuss menu.	Shop for your wedding bands.
Meet with rental company, if necessary, for tables, chairs, food warmers etc.	Book transportation.
Arrange rehersal dinner.	Choose readings for ceremony.
If you'll be changing your name, prepare the necessary documents.	Discuss order of ceremony with minister (if his/her approval is required)
6-8 Weeks Before
Mail the invitations eight weeks ahead of the wedding date.	Book professional hairstylist and make-up artist to look your best.
Finalize details for printing your Wedding Programs / Hymn Sheets.	Order Wedding Favors if your require professional assembly.
2-3 Weeks Before
Prepare wedding favors if you'll be assembling them on your own.	Confirm details with photographer, videographer, florist, decorator etc.
Contact guest who have not responded and find out if they'll be attending.	Arrange seating for the reception. Write or print seating arrangement for ushers.
Give the caterer the final head count.	Have your final dress fitting.
1 Week Before
Assign specific responsibilities to the members of your wedding party.	Pack an emergency kit with extra pins, pantyhose, makeup etc.
Confirm honeymoon arrangements.	Pack for honeymoon.
Attend wedding rehersal	Get a manicure, pedicure, facial, massage and any other beauty treatment of your choice.
The Day Before
Go to the gym, take a long walk or do some other stress reducing activity.	Schedule time for beauty - a manicure touch-up, or hair styling appointment.
Get a good night's sleep.
Your Wedding Day
Eat a good breakfast.	Relax and give yourself adequate time to get ready.
2 Weeks After The Wedding
Write and mail thank-you notes.
